Meet ZAC BRUCE

My journey in fitness began in my last year of high school when I started going to the gym to improve my appearance and confidence. Little did I know, this step would profoundly change my life.

After a year of lifting, I challenged myself to compete in a Men’s Physique show, aiming to deepen my knowledge of training and dieting. To my amazement, I won my first show, a moment that made me realize my potential in something I truly enjoyed. This experience ignited a passion in me to continuously seek self-improvement.

Soon after, I decided to enhance my knowledge further by obtaining a personal training certification. Shortly after becoming certified, a close friend’s mother, who was over 400 lbs. and in desperate need of help, reached out to me. Despite feeling nervous, I agreed to assist her.

Over the next two years, I helped her lose 200 lbs.! To celebrate this significant achievement, we took on a Tough Mudder challenge together and successfully completed it. This journey profoundly altered my life and solidified my dedication to fitness coaching.

These experiences have taught me the immense value of prioritizing health and self-improvement. I discovered that I was capable of much more than I had ever imagined. Not only did I find an activity I loved and excelled in, but I also realized my passion for helping others.

As of today, I have been coaching for 10 years. Throughout this time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with individuals from all walks of life, in various shapes and sizes, and have been instrumental in changing hundreds of lives through fitness.

Currently, I am training to achieve a physique worthy of an IFBB Pro Card. This represents one of my most significant goals, and I am fully committed to reaching it. The past few years have been filled with an immense amount of trial and error, yet I have consistently studied and learned from each experience. Despite facing numerous challenges, my motivation to enhance my physique and expand my knowledge is stronger than ever, driving me to reach new heights in my fitness journey.

Coaching Philosophy:

As a coach, I know there are always multiple ways to approach fitness. Over the years, I’ve realized that success isn’t about intricate details and complex strategies, but rather mastering the basics and being consistent. I believe anyone can achieve an incredible physique through consistency and mastering their daily nutritional habits and training techniques. You don’t need fancy meals, complicated training programs, or an array of supplements to be successful. What’s essential is a strong will, a kitchen, and a gym. Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated, and that’s why I focus on keeping it simple and teaching my clients what really matters. While I adopt a straightforward approach, I understand that everyone’s journey is different due to our unique goals and limitations. My goal is to teach you how to master the basics and maintain consistency, giving you the tools to stay in shape for life.

Who I Work Best With:

I love working with individuals who are highly motivated to make significant physical and psychological changes in their lives. My passion is to assist those who are ready to do everything within their power to reach their goals but require the right guidance and support to make it happen. Whether your aim is to compete on stage, lose fat, or build muscle, I can help guide you on this journey. However, it’s crucial that you’re prepared to give it your all, as that level of commitment is exactly what’s needed to achieve lasting change.

Favourite Quote:

Truthfully, I’m not often inspired by quotes, but there’s one phrase that motivates me during tough times: ‘Don’t be a B*tch.’ For some reason, this phrase resonates with me. It serves as a reminder that things could always be more challenging and that I might be underestimating my own resilience. Whenever I hear this phrase, it prompts me to acknowledge that the tasks before me are opportunities I get to undertake, not burdens I have to bear.

Interests and Hobbies:

I’ve always had a passion for the outdoors. Activities like hiking, hunting, fishing, and exploring are some of my favourites. Growing up, I spent a lot of time at our cabin, and in my early 20s, I worked in forestry. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the outdoors, and I make an effort to spend time outside as often as possible. On a different note, I’m also quite the nerd. I’ve always been fond of gaming and enjoy immersing myself in a good game alongside my friends.

Favourite Music Artists, TV Shows, Movies:

Personally, I have a broad appreciation for music. During my training sessions, I enjoy listening to a variety of genres – anything with a good tune and beat works for me, whether it’s folk, rap, or country.

In terms of movies and TV shows, I’m a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and horror movies. While I find that recent horror movies don’t always hit the mark, I still relish the excitement of being scared. And, as much as I’m reluctant to admit it, I’m a sucker for a good Anime. The stories and action are just too good to ignore!
